Subaru Legacy Air Suspension Conversion
When installing a Subaru Legacy Air Suspension Conversion on ANY vehicle be sure to follow all safety procedures. Make sure that when you lift your vehicle, that you're using a sturdy and dependable jack and jack stands and that the car is parked on a flat and level surface. Failure to do so can result in the vehicle sliding off it's supports and onto you! Make sure you have or can obtain all the tools required beforehand. A list of the tools needed is below, but gloves and especially eye protection should be standard equipment on any job.

These instructions are furnished only to give you an idea of the task at hand. When installing your kit, please use the instructions provided with the kit, as they will include pictures to aid with the install as well as air suspension warning light disarming instructions.

Tools Needed for Subaru Legacy Air Suspension Conversion:
Metric Socket Set
Floor Jack
Jack stands
Metric Wrenches
Screwdrivers(Phillips-head & Flat-head)
Wire Cutters/stripper/crimping tool
Level Work area
Allen Wrenches

We recommend this installation in 5 general categories:
Read general service precaution
Support the vehicle in a level area
Remove air suspension air struts
Install conversion struts
Disable ride control

FRONT STRUT REMOVAL:
* Disconnect the negative battery cable.
* Raise and support the vehicle.
* Remove all four wheels.
* Remove the union bolts from the caliper.
* Remove the clamp securing the brake hose to the strut.
* Disconnect the brake hose. (Cap the brake hose to prevent brake fluid from leaking)
* Scribe an alignment mark on the camber adjusting bolt.
* Remove Strut to housing bolts.
* Remove ABS sensor bolts(if equipped)
* Disconnect the air line from the solenoid valve.
* Unplug solenoid valve connector.
* Remove the strut cap.
* Remove the upper strut mount nuts and front strut assembly.

Repeat procedure for the other side.


FRONT STRUT INSTALLATION:

Read the instructions carefully before attempting the installation, if you have problems during the install then feel free to call our technical support line. Before calling for technical help, please have the "PO/VEND. INV." number located on the right-hand side of your invoice.
* Install the strut into the top mount and secure with the mount nuts loosely.
* Install the lower strut mount into the spindle and reinstall bolts and nuts.
* Reinstall ABS sensor bolts and brake hose.
* Reinstall the union bolts to the caliper.

Repeat procedure for the other side.

Front Subaru Legacy Air Suspension Conversion is now complete.

REAR STRUT REMOVAL:
* Disconnect the brake line from the caliper. (Cap the brake line to prevent brake fluid from leaking)
* Remove the stereo speaker cover from the upper side of the rear quarter trim panel.
* Remove the strut-to-housing bolts.
* Remove the rear solenoid valve from the rear air strut assembly.
* Disconnect the air line from the solenoid valve.
* Pull out the height sensor harness through the access hole and disconnect coupler.
* Remove the rear air strut from the vehicle.

Repeat procedure for the other side.

REAR STRUT INSTALLATION:

Read the instructions carefully before attempting the installation. Feel free to call our technical support line if you have any problems with the install. Please be sure to have the "PO/VEND.INV" number(on your receipt) before you call.
* Install the strut into the top strut housing and secure with the nuts "loosely" at this time.
* Install the lower strut mount to spindle and reinstall the mounting bolts.
* Reconnect the brake line to the caliper.
* The air lines won't be used again, so zip-tie them up and out of the way.

Repeat procedure for the other side.
* Ensure hydraulic brake system is properly bled.
* Replace all four wheels and lower the vehicle, so you can tighten the front and rear top strut and mount nuts and then replace the strut caps.
* Replace the stereo speaker cover to trim panel.

Front and Rear Subaru Legacy Air Suspension Conversion is now complete.

We highly recommend having a four wheel alignment done after a week or so
(after the springs settle)

Thanks for making a great looking, easy to install and most of all great riding kit! Have you tried to find replacement air parts for a Legacy? Installing this converter kit is the only way to go.
