I
just got my car back from the shop, now its leaking
If
your experiencing a leaking air suspension system after a recent trip to the auto
shop, your problem was most likely there all along. Simply allowing the rubber
bladder on the air strut/spring to extend or "stretch" can push an already
old and dry rotted rubber bladder over the edge.
Keep
in mind that an air strut/spring will always leak the worst while being driven
and because the system is all automatic, you may have had a leak for 6
months or more without you even knowing. Having the suspension extend for something
as simple as an oil change can aggravate an existing leak rather easy.
Looking
on the positive side, the leak is bad enough now to alert you something is wrong.
If you went for another 6 months with it leaking "a little", you may
have damaged other parts in the meantime.
NOTE:
Believe
it or not (unless a sensor has been disconnected or has malfunctioned) if the
car was raised up with the susp. switch left on, the air suspension system will
simply vent all the air out
and lower the car to the bumpstops. Unless a malfunction of the system occurs,
the system won't be damaged!
