Back in approx. '94, Ford/Lincoln made a weak attempt of addressing the moisture problem of the T/C. They started installing a small hose called a "snorkel" on their factory compressors. The idea of the snorkel is to get the compressors intake air from a higher, dryer point than where the compressor is actually mounted....which is down in a damp, moisture ridden valley. This hose is not even close to being the answer to the moisture problem of the T/C, but every little bits helps.

If you have an earlier model T/C and your replacement compressor has this hose, install the plastic end at the end of the hose up behind the LF headlight with the intake hole facing down.

NOTE:

If you want to make a sweet setup, plumb this hose into the air filter housing AFTER the air filter. This will provide the compressor with clean air that is about 90% moisture-free.
