Lincoln Continental Air Suspension Help and Common Problems
What about the computer? Won't the suspension light come on?
No. The instructions include how to defeat the suspension warning message.
Why is your kit better than others?
Our Lincoln Continental Air Suspension Conversion Kit is comprised of the absolute best parts available which includes the Best Coil Springs on the planet!
Does my mechanic have to cut or weld anything?
No. Our conversion kit is designed to be a bolt-on installation and easy to follow installation instructions are included.
Is this "Rear Only" kit all I need?
That depends on what you want to do. The basic "rear only" kit is the absolute minimum you need to purchase to keep your Lincoln from sinking. For a better ride, we recommend replacing the rear shocks at the same time, as the shocks that came on that car are electronic and no longer adjust after you convert. To nip any future problems in the bud, we recommend installing our four wheel kit. The 1997-2002 Continental only had rear air suspension, but the springs on the front that came from the factory on that model were absolute junk. Who knows where Ford got their springs for that model, but it's a very common problem for the springs to break. Unfortunately when this happens, it can actually puncture a tire! That's why it's recommended to upgrade to a four wheel conversion on a 1997-2002 Lincoln Continental.
How many hours does it take for the Lincoln Continental Air Suspension Conversion Kit?
You should figure between 1.5-2 hours times the shops labor rate, but this can vary greatly depending on the shop. If the rear shocks are to be replaced, add an hour or so to the estimate.
Do I need to replace the rear shocks?
You "can" convert the vehicle to coil springs without replacing the rear shocks, but keep in mind that shocks for that vehicle are electronic and cost $300+ each! Compare that with our replacement Monroe Sensatrac shocks as an option for $128 for the pair, including the shipping.
