Lincoln Navigator Suspension Help and Common Problems
What about the computer? Won't the suspension light come on?
No, but keep in mind that if you convert the front, it WILL affect the rear too! It is recommended to convert the front & rear at the same time to keep from having troubles down the road.
My Navigator has torsion bars in the front, why do I need coil-over shocks in the front?
Unlike the rear, the air system on the front is more of a helper system. As opposed to the rear which is totally relying on the air. If all the air in the front escaped, it wouldn't be as low as the rear, thanks to the torsion bars. The ride, however, would be GREATLY affected and increased tire wear will be quite evident.
Does my mechanic have to cut or weld anything?
No. This Front Lincoln Navigator Air Suspension Conversion Kit - Frt is a simple bolt-on installation.
Why is converting the "Front Only" not recommended?
Even if the rear isn't leaking, eventually it'll need to be pumped back up. If you convert the front only, the system will not understand what is wrong with the front and will shut down as a safety precaution, therefore NOT pumping the rear up anymore.
How long does it take to install the Front Lincoln Navigator Air Suspension Conversion Kit?
You should figure between 1-1.5 hours times the shops labor rate, but this can vary greatly depending on the shop.
Can any mechanic do this conversion?
There's a lot of backyard mechanics install the front Lincoln Navigator Air Suspension Conversion Kit in a couple of hours. By all means, if you don't feel comfortable with this install, seek a professional mechanic to do it for you.
