Lincoln Navigator Suspension Help and Common Problems
What about the computer? Won't the suspension light come on?
No. Easy to follow instructions show you how to defeat the suspension warning message. Once it's done, you'll never see a suspension warning ever again.
Do you have to replace the rear shocks when you convert?
No. Right now, your vehicle has an airbag with an entirely separate shock absorber(one can be replaced without the other). We don't want to force you to buy something that you may have already replaced. Will the vehicle have a better ride if you did replace the shocks at the same time?.....Absolutely. While replacing the rear shocks isn't required to convert, it usually has a better ride afterward if they are replaced at the same time.
Does my mechanic have to cut or weld anything?
No. This Rear Lincoln Navigator Air Suspension Conversion Kit is designed to be a bolt-on installation. Installation instructions are included.
Why is this Rear Lincoln Navigator Air Suspension Conversion Kit not recommended?
Doing a rear only conversion will work for the "short term". The AW/D (4X4) Expedition & Navigator has air suspension in the front & the rear. While the rear is more well known as a leak problem with it's "air springs," the Front "air shocks" will eventually sag down too.....even if they aren't leaking. In other words, if you don't do a front conversion as well, the front WILL sag after a couple of weeks or so.
How long does it take to install the Rear Lincoln Navigator Air Suspension Conversion Kit?
You should figure between 1-2 hours times the shops labor rate, but this can vary greatly depending on the shop.
Can any mechanic do this conversion?
We have plenty of shade-tree mechanics install Lincoln Navigator Air Suspension Conversion Kit all the time. If they can do it, someone who turns wrenches for a living should blow through it! All kits come with illustrated instructions and we even provide a toll-free number in case someone has a question.
